The purpose of the Centre is, with adherence to the highest standards of research centre management, to develop a world-class gaming technology research centre in Macao.
The establishment of Centre is a co-ordinated effort of Macao Polytechnic Institute and Melco Group.
The overall scope of the co-operation includes gaming and entertainment information technology research and systems integration up to the level of proof-of-concept demonstrations or operational prototypes in closely inter-related information systems technologies. A wide range of activities will be included, from system architecture design to applications development.
In particular, the Centre focuses on integrating technologies in the area of gaming and entertainment information systems.
Through the processes of researches and developments, the centre can gradually build up core competence in the fields of gaming, entertainment, tourism and services in MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) industries. Especially, the centre concentrates on the latest technologies and market situations and trends to develop some customised items and products for existing Macao markets. In the long-term vision, the centre aims at fulfilling the social responsibilities and benefiting Macao society according to the development trend of the public administrative direction of Macao SAR. |
